Ahhh … Julia and Curt. Where do I begin? It was a beautiful, emotional, love-filled day for this couple and I’m so glad we were able to be part of it.
Almost four years ago, Julia and Curt met in the small town she was from and Curt was there to play soccer. They met through mutual friends and had one adorable first date including a stuck truck and no cell phone service.
Fast forward several years and the two happily began planning their wedding. On a venue-hunt in Southwestern Pennsylvania, the couple had lunch at a quaint restaurant where they chatted up the staff about their ideal location. A young man introduced them to The Red Silo Barn, a brand new wedding venue in Champion, PA. With a barn big enough to accommodate all of their guests, a large lawn overlooking a pond (and two swans), it was perfect. And a dream outdoor venue for us to capture some amazing photos.
With Curt having Texas roots, the couple incorporated something unique into the day. Prior to the ceremony, Curt poured two bags of dirt onto the ground where he would be standing during the ceremony. That way he could say he was married on Texas soil!
Julia isn’t a big fan of cake, so instead of cutting a slice as husband and wife, they shared bites of ice cream. Afterward, guests were treated to a create-your-own ice cream sundae bar.
Oh! And I can’t forget the Italian cookies made by her grandma. Lindsay (my resident Italian) said the Pesche Dolci (Italian Peach Cookies) were to die for!
