Alaina and Jay are total sweethearts! We traveled to Elkins for engagement photos at their families’ cabins and we totally clicked! I couldn’t wait for their wedding!
Their ceremony included one of my favorite details ever. Instead of lighting a unity candle or pouring sand, the couple planted a tree. They asked their parents to bring soil from their homes which they mixed together to plant the tree in. I can think of no better way to symbolize the joining of two families. Just think, as Alaina and Jay grow as a couple, as a family, and have new experiences as husband and wife, the tree will be growing along with them. :-) On a humorous note, Alaina suffered a battle wound during the bouquet toss when she cut her finger… This is first the bride was injured from a flying bouquet! I’m happy to report no stitches were required. ;-)
