A few of my favorite wedding venues…so far

The Mid-Atlantic region has so many spectacular wedding venues from which to choose. The Amberlee Christey team has photographed couples and weddings at many of them. Until then, here are just a few of our top picks for wedding venues in the region:

Chanteclaire Farm in Friendsville, Md. – A barn, a bar in a silo, outdoor spaces galore and delectable food are what’s waiting for you at Chanteclaire We have photographed several weddings in this location and it’s quickly becoming one of our very favorite venues for its natural beauty, versatility and character.

Stonewall Resort, Roanoke, WV – This stately resort is nestled in the mountains and on the banks of Stonewall Jackson Lake. There is no shortage of amazing places to shoot wedding photography here, and the staff is phenomenal in putting together spectacular weddings and event.

The Greenbrier – West Virginia’s iconic resort, tucked away in the Allegheny Mountains, is just the spot for any classy occasion, especially weddings. The resort is an easy day trip from many locations in the region and makes for fantastic photo shoots from engagement shots to those on the big day.

The Morguen Toole Co. – This historical building is located in downtown Meyersdale, Pa. and is one of the most unique wedding venues our team has come across. It was built in the 1800s and has served as a hardware store, furniture store and mortuary, before falling into disrepair. The new owners have done incredible things with this 30,000 square foot structure and it deserves a look if an edgier, industrial vibe is what you’re after for your big day.

JK Farm – Situated in the heart of the Laurel Highlands region, The JK Farm is a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony. Super sweet family owned and operated we love photographing here!  They also let Amberlee use their land for engagement shoots.

Red Silo Barn (So new they don’t have a website yet!)   – One of the most recent finds through a bride, it is one of the most gorgeous places we’ve photographed .  The sunset through the hills and the light over the incredible pond is out of this world.   Be on the look out for the blog from this weeks wedding there (so magical we were waiting for a unicorn to trot through at anytime, but settled for the two swans swimming behind the ceremony)!
